Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 alpha available.

Well Microsoft calls it Roll up instead of Service Pack 1. You can download it from here. There are many fixes for VS 2008. The more important ones that developers experienced:

  • Building is slow with large projects. I believe that was the biggest complain from people using VS 2008.
  • Slow typing on the design view.
  • JavaScript intellisense was not working in some cases.

I believe that's a really fast response from Microsoft to fix the few issues that came out with VS2008. There are a few more things people found on VS2008 and was reported to Microsoft using the Connect website, and I haven't seen any resolution yet.

Cheers

Al

This IS NOT a Service Pack, please not confuse the community of users. Be careful, VS 2008, not beta, has so many bugs that I found the last month that I'm thinking very seriously to keep using VS2005.

VS 2008 is a fantatic product, but like many Microsoft products you have to wait for the first official service pack before it becomes useful. WebPreview.dll problems, control load errors, unexplained system fatal errors... The list is Huge... Cant we just once get a version that is fully tested before release and not RTM tested...!!!
