Nokia to use Silverlight, now Apple iPhone may also come to Silverlight?

Nokia announced that they are going with Silverlight for their Symbian phones a few days ago. Now Apple announces that the iPhone won't be supporting Flash as everybody expected. Apple has other plans for the iPhone. Do you think that they are talking to Microsoft about supporting Silverlight?

I don't  believe for a second that Apple and Microsoft hate each other that much, yes they are competitors and they are both really good at what they do. They also know when to partner with the right people.

Silverlight is a great product that Microsoft release to compete with Flash and Flex. After Silverlight 1.0 many people at Microsoft swift gears to include what developers asked, that's when Silverlight 2.0 was announced.

Microsoft is being putting a great deal of effort for Silverlight to support many different browsers including the Safari, let's guess what browser the iPhone has? So having a Silverlight for the iPhone safari is not a big re-write for Microsoft or a big implementation for Apple.

A match made in heaven if you ask me.

Cheers

Al

Hmmm Interesting IT could be a great initiative from Microsoft if that could be happened. One thing is that if they can some how provide support on BlackBerry and Palm then it might also be a revolutionary step.

Add to that that Microsoft just licensed Apple to implement Exchange on the iPhone. See Steve Ballmers keynote from Mix where he briefly touches on that.

Hope you had a lot of fun at the Mix. Make sure to share all the info on your blog!

If you asked me a few months ago, Apple will never implement Silverlight on the iPhone, now I am not that sure. It's the perfect move for Apple.
