Last night we went to the Halo 3 pre release at the Microsoft office in downtown Irvine. There was food, beer and lots of XBOX 360 for us to play Halo 3. Thanks Woody for the invitation by the way. He did a great job and gave a few XBOX and Halo 3 games away.
There were less than 100 people, so was nice as we played the game in big projectors, drinking MS beer. There were many rooms and a server that connected all the XBOX 360.
I was expecting many geeks, but I was not prepared for what I saw in the parking lot. The picture explains it all in this case. There were 100 people, but we all saw a guy and agreed that car was his ride.
What about Halo 3? Well, I am not a hard core gamer as other people that came with me, however in my modest opinion, Halo 3 looks and feels just like Halo 2, there are different maps and the graphics look better, but besides that I was playing Halo 2 with more maps. I asked around gamers in the party and they were not as impressed as I expected, I believe they also had bigger expectations for Halo 3.
Also California State Fullerton gave a demo of the XNA game they wrote, looked pretty good.
This is post for the party in Silicon Valley and a great review of the game here
In any case, was lots of fun and good time had by all!
Cheers
Al
